Bonaire is part of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao) of the Netherlands Antilles. The island is relatively close to the coast of Venezuela. The island is quiet and has around 11.000 inhabitants. Most residents live in the capital Kralendijk or in Rincón, the oldest town of the island.

As one of the very few islands in the Caribbean outside the hurricane zone, Bonaire is becoming increasingly attractive to investors. The construction of a new hotel and resort is proof of that. The population speaks Dutch, English, Spanish and Papiamento.

Bonaire is famous for its stunning nature. Government policies are in place to maintain the island’s ecological purity. The sea around Bonaire has been declared National Park. One of the most beautiful spots is Washington Slagbaai, a nature preserve with a unique diversity of flora and fauna. With more than 350 kinds of fish, Bonaire is one of the most popular spots for diving and snorkling in the world. Bonaire is an island as no other.
